The Stinging WASP

Ken Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee, said Tuesday that he saw nothing wrong with the ad. “After the comments by Mr. Corker and former Sen. Cohen, I looked at the ad, and I don’t agree with that characterization of it,” Mehlman told NBC’s Washington bureau chief, Tim Russert, in an interview as part of MSNBC-TV’s daylong Battleground America report.

Mehlman goes on to say that "there is nothing more repugnant in our society than people who try to divide Americans along racial lines, and I would denounce any ad that I thought did. I happen not to believe that ad does,” he said, adding that even if he wanted to pull the ad, he couldn’t.

Can't pull it down. Why not?

Even though a woman’s voice discloses that “the Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertising,” Mehlman said the RNC was not, in fact, responsible. He said the ad was produced by an independent group contracted by the RNC, with whom he is prohibited from communicating.

More political double speak. The RNC hires and pays the producer but is not responsible for its content and can't pull it down? Ford said Republican leaders were being disingenuous. “I do know that if my opponent wanted this ad pulled down, he could get it pulled down,” Ford said. White House press secretary Tony Snow appeared to support Ford on that point, telling Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” that “if he wants it to come off [the air], it’ll come off.”

The truth is they don't want to pull it down. They, the GOP, knew exactly what they were doing - playing the race card! You see the GOP is desperate. The polls show that they are in danger of losing the majority they have enjoyed for the past 10 plus years. They are going to lose seats in both the House and the Senate and then the shit will hit the fan.

Now all of those investigations that the Democrat's want to have into the Iraq war and the President's energy policy just can't be voted down by the Republican majority. Now there will in fact be investigations and the Republicans are terrified about what the public will learn.

So when the shit starts to hit the fan DUCK! If it hits you it will hurt. Just like an angry bee, a WASP, when they get mad they sting and that hurts too. Only this time it is the White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestant WASP's that may get stung. B z z z z z...
