It's the Message!
Ok
so Sen. John Kerry (D) Mass. put his foot in his mouth again. What else
is new? That is why he lost the election to George Bush
in the first place.
He won all three national debates but yet lost his campaign because he
just can't quite get it right.
Kerry said “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study
hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can
do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
What he should have said was “Do you know where you end up if you don’t
study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up
getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.”
The one little missing word was of course "us" and it was a reference to
President Bush.
But lets not miss what was actually going on here. Kerry was blasting
the President for the failed war in Iraq. And really who can blame him
for that?
Over 100 Americans died in Iraq last month alone supposedly fighting
the terrorists. The only problem is that they are not the terrorists
that attacked the United States. They were in Afghanistan. In fact those
supposed terrorists never even threatened the United States. They didn't
have the ability to just like they didn't have the weapons of mass
destruction that Bush said they did.
But try telling that to George Bush and his Republican minions. You might as
well be talking to a donkey. A jackass! You would get the same reply.
They are just so adamant in their position that they can't see what is
happening right in front of their eyes.
More and more body bags return to the U.S. and less and less gets done
in Iraq. Other than the now 3000 plus dead Americans and nearly $1
Trillion spent on the war what has changed?
NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
And that was Kerry's point. That was the message he was sending.
So before you judge John Kerry for his erroneous statement remember this.
John Kerry served this country in the military. John
Kerry, unlike George Bush, actually went to Vietnam. He fought, got
wounded and received several medals for his actions.
John Kerry says that it was a botched joke and I believe him. Why?
Because he talked the talk and walked the walk. And no matter what you
think you have to respect that.
So take some time and actually listen to what people like John
Kerry are saying. It is the message that is important not the ineptitude of the messenger.
