Death x 2
The date was 9/11/2001. The event was the attack on the World Trade Center in
New York City. The result was the death of 2973 people in New York, Washington
and Pennsylvania. For many this was nothing short of the attack on Pearl Harbor
on 12/07/1941. That too was an unprovoked attack on the United States which led
to a war that killed too many Americans.
Another important date was 5/02/03. That was the date that
George Bush, the Commander in Chief, landed on the USS Lincoln and proclaimed to
the American people - "Mission Accomplished." Quite a milestone to announce to
the American people.
Today is 9/24/06 and America has reached another milestone.
Officially more people have now died in the post attack war than died in the
actual attacks. That means that over 5946 people have now died. However, George
Bush was nowhere to be found today. He did not land on an aircraft carrier. He
did not take photos in front of the military brass and he did not say that major
combat operations in Iraq were over. He did none of this because Iraq is a
nightmare of gigantic proportions. We are losing good men and women there every
day and many Americans are asking themselves why.
Why did America even attack Iraq when it was Bin Laden and
the Taliban government that attacked the U.S. on 9/11? Why does America
currently have seven times more troops committed to Iraq than Afghanistan
where Bin Laden is hiding out? Why has George Bush not made getting Bin Laden
the number one priority? Why has America spent almost $1Trillion and what have
we got for our money?
The answers to those questions are simple: George Bush is an
absolute
MORON!
He had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein. He was Texas
mad that Saddam had threatened his daddy. It was ok for his daddy to threaten
Saddam but of course not vice-a-versa.
So now here we are. People, mostly poor people, are dying daily
in Iraq fighting a futile war that America can not win. Among the Americans
killed in the Iraq war, 34% have come from communities reporting the lowest
levels of family income. A full 50% come from middle income communities and only
17% from the highest income level. Those numbers mean that 84% of those dying
are middle income or lower.
Many think that since they are the poor and mostly uneducated
their deaths are affordable. It is not that America can afford their deaths.
Rather it is that they could not afford to live! America has turned its back on
them socially and economically to the point that their best hope to improve is
to join the military. Many see joining as a "way out" - it is anything but. It is
only the way to a quick death.
So stay tuned to what George Bush has to say and keep your eyes
on the numbers. The total number of dead people from Iraq is only going to rise
but it is not the only thing that has doubled.
The price of Halliburton stock has also doubled since the
invasion of Iraq. And oh yeah, Dick Cheney was the former CEO of Halliburton.
Double your pleasure double your fun or in this case his former company's cash.
Hey George thanks for the two bagger! |
